American clothier Brooks Brothers is a company privately owned by Retail Brand Alliance, a division of Luxottica, and is headquartered on Madison Avenue in Manhattan, New York City. Brooks Brothers was founded in 1818 by Henry Sands Brooks as men's ready-to-wear clothes shop. Brooks Brothers specializes on business and casual clothes for men and women – dresses, shirts, ties, pants, and sweaters. Brooks bothers was the first American firm which showed to market the button-down collar shirt and polo coat. For about 200 years Brooks Brothers allows its customers to determine own unique style and to follow the trend. There are about 200 Brooks Brothers stores in the U.S. and 70 all over the world, including Japan, China, Taiwan, France, England, Scotland, Chile, Canada, Italy, and Greece.
